Delta North Development Tops Agenda as Nwoko Meets APC Leaders

ABUJA/Nigeria: Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the National Assembly, on Wednesday hosted members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the senatorial district in a strategic meeting aimed at fostering unity and advancing the longstanding demand for Anioma State.

In a post shared on X, the senator described the gathering as an “opportunity to foster the unity we seek,” highlighting the importance of open and constructive dialogue in achieving collective aspirations. He emphasized that discussions centered on the creation of Anioma State, a cause he described as a dream “that speaks to our unity, progress, and rightful place in the Nigerian federation.”

Beyond the quest for statehood, Nwoko noted that the meeting also addressed broader developmental challenges confronting Delta North, with stakeholders exploring viable solutions to drive progress and improve the welfare of constituents. Stressing the need for cohesion, he remarked, “Unity is the foundation upon which lasting change is built. As leaders and stakeholders, we must continue to strengthen our bonds, set aside divisions, and work in unison for the betterment of Delta North.”

Reaffirming his commitment to the Anioma cause, the senator vowed to intensify efforts to push for the state’s creation, asserting that it would address the unique challenges faced by the Anioma people. He pledged unwavering dedication to serving the region, stating, “Our collective aspirations deserve unwavering dedication, and I will continue to champion the cause of progress, unity, and prosperity for our beloved region.”

The meeting is seen as a significant step in rallying political forces behind the Anioma agenda, with stakeholders optimistic about the renewed momentum towards realizing the long-sought goal.
