Delta Legislature Insists On Damaged Primary School Roofs Replacement

WARRI/Nigeria: The member representing Warri South Constituency II in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, said renovation of sections of Ogedegbe Primary School, Warri, will only be accepted if the damaged roofs in two blocks of classrooms are replaced.

The lawmaker, handed down the condition, when he went around Agbassa, Merogun, and Ogedegbe Primary Schools, all in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area, to ascertain if the planned renovation work had commenced in the aforesaid schools.

Whilst stating that what the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-led Delta state government has earmarked for the renovation is enough to fix the blown-off roofs at Ogedegbe Primary School, Hon. Opuoru, asserted: “The scoping was done and I strongly believe that this area and that of the other area (the blocks of classrooms with damaged roofs) will be taken care of.

Kudos to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. He has done a lot in terms of uplifting the educational system in the state and I am very impressed by it”.

Hon. Opuoru and members of his delegation were conducted around the projects by Engr. Abraham Akpotor, assured that the renovation work would be completed in record time as soon as funds are released.

The Head Teachers of Agbassa Primary School, Mrs. Omologe Mary, Merogun Primary School, Mrs. Balogun Florence, and Ogedegbe Primary School, Comrade Ogbo Jabin, were on the ground to receive Hon. Opuoru during the inspection visit.
