ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, has called on corps members who served in the state’s Ministry of Information to embrace productivity and meaningful ventures as they transition into the next phase of their lives.
Speaking on Thursday at a send-forth ceremony for Batch C, Stream 1 corps members in the ministry’s conference hall, Dr. Osuoza, who was represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Theresa Oliko, emphasized the importance of self-reliance, urging the outgoing corps members to engage in positive activities, warning that “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.”
He encouraged them to take advantage of the digital age by starting online businesses and other legitimate ventures, cautioning against the temptation to engage in cybercrime. The commissioner further advised them to maintain discipline, respect, and hard work, traits nurtured from their primary years through their service period.
Dr. Osuoza also used the occasion to admonish the corps members to avoid cultism and other negative influences, reminding them that such behaviors should be left behind as they enter adulthood. He stressed the need to place their efforts in the hands of God for guidance and success.
In response, Ms. Gloria Eme, speaking on behalf of the outgoing corps members, expressed gratitude to the ministry’s management and staff for their unwavering support during their service year. She pledged that they would continue to be good ambassadors of the ministry.
The event concluded with the presentation of gifts to the outgoing corps members.
