GBARAMATU KINGDOM/Nigeria: Renowned environmental advocate and community leader, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff, has lauded the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for his recent working visit to riverine communities, including the oil-rich Kokodiagbene Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area.
Chief Mulade, also known as the Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, expressed appreciation for Governor Oborevwori’s hands-on approach in inspecting ongoing projects and assessing the quality of previous works. He emphasized the importance of continuity in government projects, ensuring that no community is left behind.
“I sincerely thank and appreciate you for giving hope to us that government is continuity; therefore, no project will be abandoned in the state, especially riverine projects,” Chief Mulade stated.
However, he also pointed out a crucial aspect needing attention, particularly in the implementation of concrete walk-way projects in the riverine areas.
“It is imperative to draw the attention of His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to some of the disadvantages of the concrete walk-way projects in the riverine area of the State,” Chief Mulade remarked.
He emphasized the need for connectivity between communities to maximize the economic benefits of such infrastructure.
“I want to strongly appeal to our amiable Governor Rt Hon Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori to kindly link together the under-listed communities in the same island,” Chief Mulade urged, listing Okerenkoko, Pepe-ama, Ogidadino, Edeba, Ekpemu, Kokodiagbene, and Jones Creek Flow Station.
He stressed that transforming the walk-ways into proper roads connecting neighboring communities would significantly enhance economic value for the people and the state.
As a peace ambassador, Chief Mulade called on Governor Oborevwori to expedite necessary actions to elevate the walk-ways to the status of legacy projects, aligning with his administration’s MORE AGENDA Posterity project for riverine communities in the State.
