Delta Governor’s Aide Celebrates Delta College of Nursing on 30th Matriculation Anniversary
AGBOR/Nigeria: The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, Amb. Ese J. Emadifie (Chief Sir Dante), has congratulated the management and students of the Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, on the occasion of their 30th matriculation anniversary, which was held on Tuesday at the college auditorium, marked a significant milestone in the institution’s history.
In his comment, Emadifie commended the college for its achievements over the years, noting that it has grown to become one of the top institutions for nursing education in Delta State and Nigeria. He urged the management to sustain its efforts in maintaining academic excellence and advised the matriculating students to prioritize their studies, emphasizing the importance of their future roles in saving lives.
“As you embark on this academic journey, remember that nursing is a noble profession that deals directly with human lives. Dedicate yourselves to your studies and the pursuit of excellence,” he said.
As a gesture of encouragement, Emadifie announced a personal reward of ₦200,000 for the best graduating student at the end of the second semester. He also pledged an additional ₦200,000 to the best-performing student in the intermediate class.
Earlier in her opening speech, the provost of the college, Mrs. Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, described the event as a significant milestone, particularly after disruptions to academic activities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This 30th matriculation is special because it marks a return to normalcy after the challenges of the past. I encourage all students to seize this opportunity to strive for excellence and become the best versions of themselves,” she said.
Mrs. Ogonne expressed her gratitude to the members of the planning committee for their dedication in organizing the milestone event and wished the students a successful academic journey.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including the Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, represented by a delegate; the Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Atikpo Mercy, traditional rulers from Agbor Kingdom; and other prominent figures.
