Delta Governor Oborevwori’s Policies and Projects Lauded by Senior Media Aides
ASABA/Nigeria: Senior media aides to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, have commended his administration’s performance, highlighting key policies on project completion, worker welfare, human capital development, and security enhancement.
Speaking on the Bridge FM Radio current affairs program “Delta Today,” Comrade Felix Ofou, Executive Assistant to the Governor on New Media, praised Oborevwori for prioritizing the continuation and completion of inherited projects.
“What Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated is that gone are the days of abandoned projects in Delta State. The projects are meant to serve the people. They were started with state funds, and it only makes sense that they are vigorously pursued to a logical conclusion under the new administration,” Ofou stated.
Comrade Norbert Chiazor, Executive Assistant on Media, highlighted several significant projects under Oborevwori’s administration. “At his colorful inauguration ceremony, he promised to give the Warri area a facelift in infrastructural renewal and development. All Deltans can see the progress with Julius Berger constructing mega bridges and expanding roads. Warri, the economic nerve center of the state, is being developed to attract and sustain greater business investments.”
Chiazor also noted the completion of numerous projects across Delta North, Delta Central, and Delta South, and the Governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare. “The Governor has paid off the N5 billion workers’ promotion arrears, provided N40 billion in support for local government councils to meet obligations to pensioners, and recruited about 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff for primary schools. The Delta CARES program has expanded its beneficiaries from about 36,353 to 110,841 within one year.”
Mr. Fred Edoreh, Senior Special Assistant on Media, emphasized Oborevwori’s strategic approach to development. “There is an increased intensity of work on the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway Project, and steady progress by Julius Berger on the Warri flyover bridges and road expansion projects. The Beneku Bridge in Ndokwa is nearly 98 percent complete, and the Bedeseigha Bridge connecting Bomadi and other local government areas is finished. Numerous projects are ongoing in riverine communities like Kurutie, Okenrenkoko, and Ogulagha.”
Edoreh highlighted additional projects, including the Emevor-Orogun Road and Phase 2 of the Olomoro-Enwhe-Uwherun road in Isoko, as well as the Okpanam-Ibusa Bypass and storm water drainage project in Ika North East.
“The Governor’s strategy includes placing big projects on Irrevocable Standing Payment Orders (ISPO), ensuring sustained funding and project security. The spread of projects is even across communities, senatorial districts, and sectors,” Edoreh explained.
Edoreh also praised Oborevwori’s efforts in maintaining peace and security. “Despite the unfortunate Okuama incident, Delta remains one of the safest states to live and invest in Nigeria, thanks to the Governor’s commitment to enhanced peace and security.”
More of Governor Oborevwori’s accomplishments are expected to be highlighted ahead of his one-year anniversary in office.
