Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Football Tournament Intensifies as Round Two Kicks Off

WARRI/Nigeria: The Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Football Tournament has entered an exciting Round Two, with ethnic pride and football excellence taking centre stage.

Today, 25th November, Team Ika will lock horns with Team Isoko at the Obiaruku Township Stadium, while Team Ijaw is set to face Team Itsekiri at Ogbe Primary School, Effurun. Both matches are scheduled for 2:00 pm, promising thrilling encounters as the teams compete for supremacy.

In the Ika Centre, Agbor United FC has advanced to face Winsome FC, representing the Isoko Centre. Meanwhile, Patani Strikers, champions of the Ijaw Centre, will go head-to-head with Ogbomaru FC, winners from the Itsekiri Centre.

Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Chief Ken Nwoamucha, commended the participating teams for their sportsmanship and cooperation, which have ensured the smooth running of the tournament so far. He highlighted the deliberate selection of venues to guarantee fairness and provide a conducive atmosphere for all matches.

The tournament, a celebration of unity and peace through sport, will continue with fixtures scheduled every two days. The Obiaruku Township Stadium will host matches featuring Teams Ika, Isoko, and Ndokwa, while Ogbe Primary School, Effurun, will serve as the battleground for Teams Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo.

As the competition heats up, fans and players alike anticipate more action-packed games that showcase the spirit of camaraderie and ethnic harmony in Delta State.
