Jerry met his untimely death on Thursday 21st December, 2017 during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Local Government Council Election rally in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state ahead of the January, 6, 2018 local government elections.
He died as a result of deep injuries sustained from cannon shots at the campaign ground in Kwale township stadium.

He excused himself from social events and activities, his display pictures on social media platforms were removed and replaced with a tin candlelight to memorialize and honour the deceased.
The Deputy Speaker, who daily motivates his friends on social media with inspirational quotes to begin the day energized, was mute and seemly hibernated since the death of the aide.

Our source also gathered from the Deputy Speaker’s office that the empowerment master has met severally with members of the extended family of Jerry, making durable plans for the welfare and empowerment the family.
The children ( David, Child in utero) education, welfare and business/career of the wife have all been arranged for, by the Deputy Speaker.
In all of these, Osanebi still feels the vacuum the aide has left in his life, office and family. When he said: Jerry is loyal and strong. He occupies an office and position in my heart that’s difficult to substitute.
