Delta Commissioner Commends Group For Building, Donating Science Laboratories To School

IDUMUJE/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu, has commended Idumuje Patriotic Union of Nigeria (IPUN), Southern California, USA, for building and equipping science laboratories in Idumuje Mixed Secondary School in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state.
Mrs. Ezewu gave the commendation in Asaba while reacting to the gesture of the union.
She said that it was a thing of joy that the union, comprised of well-meaning individuals from the community, decided to provide the infrastructure to the school.
Mrs. Ezewu said that the gesture would complement the state government’s commitment towards enhancing the education sector, adding that several public schools in the state had been upgraded by the present administration in the state.
She urged the teachers and the students of the school to ensure that they maximised the benefits of the facility, adding that the science laboratories would boost the performance of the students in science subjects.
Earlier in a handing over ceremony of the science laboratories to the school, the Chairman of MyDoc Healthcare and Education Foundations, Dr Uchmefune Chukwudi Awolo, on behalf of the donors, said that the facility was aimed at ensuring better performance of the study in science subjects in both internal and external examinations.
Dr Awolo said that MyDoc Healthcare and Education Foundation supervised the project which included Physics, Biology and Chemistry laboratories on behalf of the union, adding that it was a better way of giving back to the community so that the children could benefit from the science laboratories.
While calling on the school authorities and the students to protect the facility and leverage on it to perform well in science subjects, Dr Awolo lauded the Idumuje Patriotic Union of Nigeria for its wisdom and contributions to uplifting the community.
