Delta Assembly Commission Shortlists 61 Staff for Promotion

ASABA/Nigeria: Sixty-one staff members of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission have been shortlisted for promotion to higher ranks in recognition of their services to the state.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Sunday Ebireri, announced this during the commencement of the 2025 promotion interviews held at the Commission’s headquarters in Asaba. He revealed that the shortlisted staff span across management and middle management cadres.

Accompanied by other board members and the Secretary of the Commission, Barr. Austin Uwasike, Mr. Ebireri emphasized the Commission’s commitment to ensuring the effectiveness and responsiveness of the Delta State Legislature.

“Recruitment, promotions, training, and retraining of staff, as well as welfare programs, remain top priorities for the Commission in line with the law establishing it,” Mr. Ebireri stated.

He assured that under his leadership, the management team would continue to motivate staff for enhanced service delivery and urged workers to reciprocate by giving their best in their duties.

Aligning with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda, Mr. Ebireri commended the governor for his leadership and support for the state’s workforce, particularly those in the legislature.

The chairman also expressed gratitude to the governor for releasing funds for the promotion exercise and thanked the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, for facilitating the process.

“One of our core mandates is the promotion of staff, and that duty has brought us here today. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, prioritizes the welfare of workers, and we in the Commission are fully aligned with his MORE agenda,” Mr. Ebireri remarked.

The promotion exercise, which spans two days, has been described by staff as a morale booster. Many expressed appreciation to the state’s leadership for prioritizing their welfare and pledged to continue contributing positively to the system.

The initiative highlights the Commission’s dedication to fostering efficiency and quality in Delta State’s public service.
