Delta APC Disclaims Chief Akpeki’s Role in Report Presentation to NWC
ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from an unauthorized action by Chief Paulinus Akpeki, the Vice Chairman of the Delta Central Senatorial District, who allegedly received a report from the Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor-led reconciliation committee on behalf of the State Working Committee (SWC).
In a statement issued on Monday, Acting Chairman of the Delta APC, Chief Francis Obigbor, Esq., declared that Chief Akpeki lacked the authority to receive or present any report to the National Chairman. Chief Obigbor described the action as a “clear usurpation of power” and a deliberate attempt to sow discord within the party.
“We categorically state that Chief Akpeki has no authority to receive any report or present the same before the National Chairman,” Obigbor said. “His actions are a clear usurpation of power and a deliberate attempt to cause confusion within the party.”
The Acting Chairman called on the National Chairman and the National Working Committee (NWC) to disregard any report or related actions originating from Akpeki’s unauthorized activities.
Addressing party members and stakeholders, Chief Obigbor urged calm and vigilance. “We urge all our party faithful and stakeholders to remain calm and not be distracted by this unauthorized action,” he said.
