Deep-Seated Hatred Had Caused Deltans Untold Sufferings – Uduaghan
WARRI/Nigeria: The Former Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, has said that deep-seated hatred had caused the state untold suffering since its creation.
The former governor stated this Sunday, December12, 2021 when he joined Bishop Simeon Okah of the Flock of Christ Mission during the church 2021 annual thanksgiving service, Warri.
Uduaghan in his goodwill message to the church and Deltans, tasked ethnic groups to embrace the diversity that makes Delta State unique in his short admonition titled, “Together We Can Make It”.
He used the opportunity to berate ethnic jingoists who served as clog on the wheel of progress of the state since its creation, saying its when people genuinely embrace one another as inhabitants of same geographical location that progress and peace can be achieved.
He said, “Togetherness is one of the biggest issues in Delta state till today. I had hinderances as governor. There were some fine programmes my administration proposed but were vehemently resisted by ethnic jingoists. They do not think of the larger picture or benefit of anything. They view everything from their suspicious ethnic lenses.”
The former governor advised Deltans who are also members of churches to learn from the life of our lord Jesus Christ whose greatest gift to mankind is love.
