DAO Foundation Brings Joy to Children at Annual Christmas Carnival

ONICHA-OLONA/Nigeria: In a heartwarming display of love and community spirit, Dr. Doris Amaka Ochei, founder of DAO Foundation, and her husband, Major General Raymond Ochei, hosted the annual Children’s Christmas Carnival at Ugba Primary School, Onicha-Olona, in Delta State’s Aniocha North Local Government Area. The event brought smiles to many young faces while reinforcing the importance of values and community support.

The carnival, themed “Grooming Children for Royalty,” featured colorful cultural dances, fashion parades, and quiz competitions. Dignitaries in attendance included Hon. Emma Chinye Basim, Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, and other notable personalities.

In her welcome address, Dr. Doris Ochei shared her deep affection for children, shaped by her personal journey of waiting 11 years for motherhood. “This event is about creating cherished memories. Our goal is to fill this day with laughter, games, and warmth, ensuring every child experiences the magic of Christmas,” she said.

Dr. Ochei also emphasized the foundation’s mission to promote values like honesty, dignity of labor, and respect, which she said are often neglected in modern society. “DAO Foundation is dedicated to reversing the erosion of these values through programs that empower children to become leaders of integrity,” she added.

Major General Raymond Ochei, the foundation’s patron, praised his wife for her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes. “My wife has shown remarkable compassion and dedication to the welfare of the less privileged. This carnival reflects the true spirit of Christmas—love, unity, and the joy of sharing,” he remarked.

Children at the carnival enjoyed various gifts and participated in activities aimed at boosting self-esteem and character development. Daniela Ochei, speaking on behalf of the children, described the day as one filled with “joy, laughter, and purpose,” encouraging her peers to embrace their potential and lead with values.

Community leaders, including Sir Patrick Ejido, President General of Onicha-Olona Development Union, commended DAO Foundation’s efforts. He highlighted its contributions to infrastructure, healthcare, and women’s empowerment within the community.

The foundation’s initiatives, such as market reconstruction, classroom construction, and support for healthcare centers, continue to transform lives, spreading hope and empowerment across the region.
