Cybersecurity Expert Commends NDDC Chairman Chiedu Ebie for Solar Street Light Installation in Ika Nation

AGBOR/Nigeria: Engr. Christian Ijeh, a cybersecurity expert based in Poland, has praised the recent installation of solar street lights across Ika nation in Delta State, spearheaded by Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Ijeh described the initiative as a remarkable example of how community leaders can leverage innovation to address local challenges. He emphasized that the solar lights are a significant step towards improving safety, security, and sustainable development.

In his appreciation, widely circulated and made available to Vanguard newspaper by Jerome Utomi, Media Aide to Mr. Ebie, Ijeh highlighted the positive impact of the project. He noted that the installation has already enhanced night-time visibility, deterred crime, and fostered a sense of safety in the community.

This acknowledgment comes shortly after a similar commendation from Sir Tonna Okei, President of the South Carolina Organization of African Unity (OAU) in the United States. Okei, also known as Ikuku Oma, lauded Mr. Ebie’s leadership, stating that the NDDC under his chairmanship is redefining public service in the Niger Delta through transformative projects that are improving lives.

Engr. Ijeh, who hails from Omumu in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, and works with IT4KAN as a Firewall Administrator, stressed that Mr. Ebie’s efforts have brought much-needed light to the streets of Ika nation. He noted that beyond infrastructure development, the project promotes community well-being by enhancing security and visibility at night.

Ijeh also pointed out the broader significance of the project, describing it as a bold statement on the importance of renewable energy in community development. He commended Mr. Ebie’s commitment to sustainability and his vision for long-term benefits for the people of Ika.

In his statement, Ijeh expressed personal gratitude to Mr. Ebie, stating, “As a native of Omumu and a cybersecurity expert currently residing in Poland, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Chiedu Ebie for this transformative initiative. The installation of solar street lights not only boosts physical security but also aligns with the growing need for innovative solutions in an interconnected world where digital and physical safety are increasingly linked.”

He continued, “By embracing solar power, Mr. Ebie has provided a reliable and cost-effective lighting solution while highlighting the importance of environmental consciousness. This project is a shining example of how local leaders can harness innovation to address local challenges.”

Ijeh concluded by praising Mr. Ebie’s leadership and commitment to public service, stating that the project serves as an inspiration and a catalyst for further development in the community.

It is worth noting that Sir Tonna Okei recently commended the NDDC’s Governing Board for its achievements, including the nationally recognized 132KV transmission line and substation in Ode Erinje, Ondo State, which ended a 15-year blackout in the Ondo South Senatorial District. Other projects include the 25.7km Ogbia-Nembe road connecting 14 riverine communities and the ongoing Youth Internship Programme for 10,000 young people. These initiatives reflect the collaborative efforts of the NDDC under Mr. Ebie’s leadership.
