COVID-19: Delta NAWOJ Join Other Women Journalists to in A One Day Prayer and Fasting

ASABA/Nigeria: As part of the efforts to find solution and cure to the present world pandemic, the Coronavirus Disease, the Delta State chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Monday April 6, 2020 joined the National Secretariat of the of the association in a-one day national fasting and prayer against Covid-19.

In a press release, and signed by the Chairperson, Delta State Chapter, Mrs Patricia Gbemudu, the state they the association decided to embark on the fasting and prayer as the virus has continued to ravage the entire country   like harmattan fire despite   concerted efforts by government and other stakeholders  to combat the deadly virus.

She stated that as women who believe in the efficacy of prayers, they decided to hold a prayer session nationally, that with faith God will heal the land, as they advised Nigerians to saty safe, and always remind themselves of the strict adherence to personal hygiene of washing of hands with soap and water at all times.

“As women who believe strongly in efficacy of prayers, we held a prayer session across the country in faith and asked for God’s divine intervention for the healing of our land, Nigeria as He did in the time of old.”

“In an agreement prayer and faith and as mothers, sisters and wives we  called on God’s  healing  powers upon those already infected and an end to the spread of the deadly disease.”

“We advised Nigerians to stay safe, reminding ourselves of strict adherence to personal hygiene of washing our hands with soap and water at all times among other preventive measure”
