Court of Appeal Confirms Ned Nwoko’s Victory in Delta North Senatorial Election

LAGOS/Nigeria: In a decisive verdict, the Court of Appeal has upheld the Tribunal’s judgment, validating Prince Ned Nwoko of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the legitimate victor in the Delta North senatorial election.

The court’s ruling, delivered in Lagos, marks the culmination of a legal battle that saw the appeals of Peter Nwaoboshi from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ken Kanma, the Labour Party candidate, dismissed on grounds of lacking merit.

The National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal, situated in Asaba, Delta State, had initially ruled in September, confirming Prince Ned Nwoko’s resounding victory in the senatorial election that transpired on February 25, 2023.

The Court of Appeal’s endorsement of this decision further solidifies Nwoko’s triumph, securing his position as the rightful representative for Delta North in the Senate.
