Councillor Urges Ezhionum Development Association to Prioritize Sanitation, Donates Tiles for Town Hall Renovation
EZHIONUM/Nigeria: Hon. Chukwuemeke Victor, the Councillor representing Ezhionum Ward 19 in Ukwuani Local Government Area, has called on the leadership of the Ezhionum Development Association (EDA) to strengthen their efforts in community sanitation and the maintenance of local infrastructure.
In a private meeting with the Community’s President-General, High Chief Augustine Enegide, and the Secretary-General, Dr. Orji Ndumdi, the Councillor emphasized the importance of prioritizing sanitation to support Article 6 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Demonstrating his commitment to improving the community’s infrastructure, Hon. Victor announced on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, @_victormdp, that he had purchased and donated forty cartons of 60 by 60 size tiles for the renovation of the community town hall.
Responding to the donation, the Secretary-General, Dr. Orji Ndumdi expressed gratitude on behalf of the Ezhionum Development Association, commending the Councillor for his proactive approach and generosity.
The President-General, High Chief Enegide, led a delegation to receive the donated items.
In a related development, during a meeting with the Council Chairman, Hon. Barr. Possible Solomon Ajede, on July 17, 2024, Councillor Victor appealed for the inclusion of his community in the selection of Supervisors. Citing Section 14(3) of the 1999 Constitution as amended, his request was honoured with the appointment of Mr. Emeke Okolo as a Supervisor.
