Chybee Foundation Founder Commends Delta First Lady’s Impact on Women’s Empowerment
ASABA/Nigeria: Lady Chinyere Chukwudi Zimako, founder of Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women, has praised the transformative impact of the “You Matter Charity Foundation,” a project of Dame Tobore Oborevwori, the wife of the Delta State Governor. Speaking at a press briefing in Asaba, Zimako highlighted the significant strides made by the foundation over the past year in uplifting the lives of the less privileged in Delta State.
Zimako noted that the “You Matter Charity Foundation” (YMC), which recently celebrated its first anniversary, has made a remarkable difference in the lives of children with autism and dyslexia. She emphasized that her own foundation, Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women, shares a similar vision with that of the First Lady, focusing on empowering women and fostering their potential.

Chybee Foundation, fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, was established to address the need for women’s empowerment across Africa. “Our vision is to empower one million women with the tools and resources they need to grow their businesses,” Zimako stated. Since its inception, the foundation has empowered 40 women in various businesses, with 10 women supported in the maiden event last October and 30 more women receiving grants of N100,000 each in April this year.
Reflecting on her inspiration for charity work, Zimako cited the famous quote from former U.S. President John F. Kennedy: “Think of what you can do for your nation and not what your nation can do for you.” This philosophy has driven her commitment to empowering women and serving humanity, an experience she described as profoundly rewarding.
Zimako lauded the First Lady’s efforts through her project, which advocates for the right to education for every girl child, combats gender-based violence and drug abuse among Delta youths, and provides a safe environment for homeless children, particularly girls. “My vision aligns with that of the First Lady,” Zimako added, “and I commend her for the impact she has made so far.”
In her closing remarks, Zimako called on all levels of government to prioritize the empowerment of girls and women, stressing that this would enable them to contribute more effectively to society’s development. She also encouraged women to work diligently in their chosen fields, assuring them that her foundation is committed to mentoring and guiding them toward self-reliance.
