CHRISTMAS: Ochor Preaches Peace To Constituency, Deltans
ASABA/Nigeria: The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ochor Christopher Ochor, has urged members of his constituency, and Deltans to use the birth of Jesus Christ, to cultivate the act of peaceful living.
Ochor who is also the representative of Ukwuani State Constituency gave the charge in his Christmas message, signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli on Saturday, December 24, 2022.
He stated that there is nothing more than peacefully living with neighbours, as it allows for an atmosphere of creativity and positive development. Stating that the celebration of the Birthday of Jesus Christ is a feast that gives mankind the opportunity to reflect on the advantages of a peaceful society.
He charged them to reflect on the spiritual benefits of Christmas, and use the period to pray for Ukwuani and Delta State, for the existing peace in the state to be sustained, which will help boost their social and economic needs.
“As we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ, I urge you to use the opportunity to create and improve the existing peace among you. Christ was born to bring peace into our lives and communities. And peace has many advantages as it offers us an atmosphere for creativity, positive planning, and development.”
“Let us, therefore, reflect on the spiritual purpose of the feast of Christmas., and use it to pray for our constituency, and Delta State, so that the existing peace will be sustained.”
He also urged the people, to use the celebration, to pray for the success of the 2023 elections, for victory at the polls for all the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and for a peaceful poll.
“The year 2023 will be a watermark in our country and state. It’s the year that the country will go to the polls to vote for its new leaders. Let us also remember the country in our prayers, to have a peaceful election at all levels, and for the victory of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Pray for all our candidates at all levels, so that with victory, we can reset, rescue Nigeria, and provide more for Deltans.” He noted.
