Bureau Chief Commends Gov Oborevwori On Human Capacity Development …Says Strategic Deployment Of Agentry, Public Information Models Build Trust, Mutual Understanding

ABUJA/Nigeria: Director-General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has once again commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the administration’s consistent investment in human capacity development across ministries, departments, and agencies in the state.
Dr. Oghenesivbe gave the commendation in Abuja while speaking with journalists at the ongoing National Spokespersons Summit of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), holding at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
He noted that the state government’s investment in manpower development has significantly boosted the productivity of the Delta State workforce, adding that members of the State Media and Communication Council have worked harmoniously to promote professionalism and improve the standard of government public information management.
Oghenesivbe, who also serves as the Public Relations Officer of the NIPR Delta State Chapter, described the summit as the premier capacity-building platform for public and private sector spokespersons in Nigeria. He added that the professional insights gained from the programme have further equipped participants to perform their duties more effectively in both government and corporate image management.
He stressed the importance of combining the Press Agentry/Publicity model with the Public Information model in public communication strategy to enable a two-way communication system that fosters mutual understanding, builds trust, and reinforces integrity between government and the people.
“I commend my leader and boss, the Governor of Delta State, Dr. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, for his unwavering commitment to human capacity development across all MDAs, of which I am a proud beneficiary,” Oghenesivbe said.
He also noted that the summit featured former and current Ministers of Information, including Mohammed Idris Malaji, Professor Jerry Gana, Frank Nweke Jnr., and Labaran Maku, who shared their vast experiences with participants.
“From the diverse experiences of the former Honourable Ministers of Information and the contributions by PR professionals, it is strongly recommended that spokespersons strategically deploy the Press Agentry and Public Information models to build trust, integrity, and mutual understanding in governance,” he added.
