Authentic News Daily Unveils Winners of 2024 Annual Awards
KADUNA/Nigeria: Renowned for its commitment to excellence in journalism, Authentic News Daily has announced the winners of its highly anticipated annual awards for 2024, marking the 10th edition of the prestigious honors.
In a statement jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the planning committee, Amos Ebute Mathew and Lola Seriki-Idahosa, the winners were revealed on Tuesday, February 17, 2025.
Topping the list of honorees, human rights activist and social crusader Dele Farotimi was named Authentic Man of the Year for his unwavering advocacy for justice, good governance, and systemic reforms in Nigeria. The 56-year-old lawyer and author has gained prominence through his writings, public speeches, and media engagements, consistently challenging Nigeria’s political structure and societal challenges.
In the journalism category, seasoned Yola-based journalist Tom Garba received the Authentic Journalist of the Year award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the profession.
Among the notable figures recognized this year, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf emerged as new entrants in their respective categories. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was honored as Authentic Politician of the Year, while Senator Uba Sani was named Authentic Great Achiever of the Year.
