Atiku Media Office Counters Allegations of Forgery, Accuses Bola Tinubu of Serial Deceit

ABUJA/Nigeria: In a staunch rebuttal to recent allegations, the Atiku Media Office has stepped forward to denounce attempts by the presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to implicate former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in forgery, contending that these efforts are merely diversionary tactics aimed at diminishing allegations of falsifications against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Issuing a statement on Sunday in the nation’s capital, Abuja, Paul Ibe, the Media Adviser to Atiku Abubakar, emphatically stated, “Contrary to Bola A. Tinubu’s forgery shopping allegation against Atiku, it is on record that the change of name of the former Vice President, reverting to Atiku Abubakar from Siddiq Abubakar, is well documented in an affidavit dated 18th of August 1973, spanning over a period of 50 years, a period coincidentally as long as the commencement of Tinubu’s own history of forgeries and deceit, and this documentation is in the public domain.”

The release further asserted that the global consensus has firmly painted President “Bola A. Tinubu as a confirmed forger-in-chief, owing to a trail of serial deceptions and falsehoods spanning five decades.”

The statement unflinchingly declared, “Bola A. Tinubu has fabricated and deceived on every facet of his life – from his lineage, to his name and birth date, his educational qualifications and certificates, and his professional background.”

Furthermore, revelations of Tinubu’s records discovered at Chicago State University and the court-ordered deposition in the United States, according to the statement, are merely the tip of the iceberg in a lengthy catalogue of his forgeries and falsehoods.

The statement posited that Tinubu’s endeavor to embroil Atiku Abubakar in his web of deceit should be seen for what it truly is: a desperate attempt to minimize the slew of forgery allegations he must grapple with.

Paul Ibe asserted that it has been definitively established that Tinubu’s academic experience was confined to Chicago State University, with the additional revelation that he secured admission through impersonation.

The statement continued, “Now, let’s contextualize Bola A. Tinubu’s lifelong trail of forgeries and falsehoods. In 1999, Tinubu perjured himself by falsely asserting in his form CF001 submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that he had attended St Paul’s Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos; Government College Ibadan, Chicago University (CU), and Chicago State University (CSU).”

Drawing from the recent revelations of Tinubu’s records at Chicago State University, the statement unveiled that Tinubu had forged a secondary school certificate from Government College Lagos, a Higher School Certificate (HSC) from Cambridge University, and a transcript from Richard Daley College, a document belonging to a female individual.

Additionally, it was disclosed that a few days prior to his anticipated graduation in 1979, CSU notified him of uncompleted pre-qualifying examinations in English, Mathematics, and Comprehension. Strikingly, these unfulfilled requirements failed to appear on his transcript as retaken courses.

After this labyrinthine journey of falsified educational qualifications, Bola A. Tinubu purportedly claimed in his 1999 affidavit for the gubernatorial race in Lagos State that he possessed working experience with Arthur Anderson Accounting, Deloitte, and Mobil Nigeria. The veracity of these claims, however, was debunked as his footprints were nowhere to be found within these corporate entities, similar to the fate met by his academic deceptions.

Moreover, the statement pointed out a curious addition of the name “Adekunle” that mysteriously surfaced in Tinubu’s purported National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate on Wikipedia, dated October 6, 2023. This development raised suspicions of further forgery.

Despite this, Bola A. Tinubu and his associates persist in sowing confusion and insinuating improprieties concerning Atiku Abubakar.

The statement implored Tinubu and his associates to refrain from making any further comparisons between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, clarifying, “For the purpose of clarification, all the names that Atiku Abubakar bears are traceable to his family lineage. He adopted Atiku Abubakar as his official name during his tenure with the Nigeria Customs Service. Atiku’s life is an open book, in stark contrast to the enigmatic and inscrutable life led by Bola A. Tinubu, whose name lacked any historical or social resonance until the late 1970s.”
