ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has called on broadcast media houses in the state to adopt fresh and creative content strategies to maintain audience engagement and remain relevant in the industry.

Aniagwu made the call on Friday while receiving the planning committee of the proposed Delta Broadcast Media Conference 2025 at his office in the Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat, Asaba.

The convener of the conference, Mr. Rukky Onoro, revealed that the event, themed “Broadcast Media: Unlocking Delta’s Possibilities,” will feature renowned broadcasters Rufai Oseni, Maupe Ogun Yusuf, and Agatha Amata as guest speakers. He explained that the conference aims to bridge the gap between Delta’s potential and its global perception while equipping media professionals with the tools to drive development and innovation.

Aniagwu emphasized that broadcast media should go beyond merely reporting government statements and instead create compelling content that attracts a broader audience. He urged broadcasters to conduct thorough investigations into societal issues and report them accurately, stressing the importance of continuous self-assessment and staff engagement to enhance performance.

Commending the organizers for their efforts in advancing media development in Delta State, Aniagwu assured them of the government’s full support for the conference.

Onoro further stated that the conference will target journalists, broadcasters, media executives, government officials, corporate stakeholders, development partners, and community leaders. Expected outcomes include improved state branding, media strategy development, policy recommendations, and enhanced investment and tourism prospects.
