Alphonsus Ojo Buries Father, Saturday 16 April 2022
UMUTU/Nigeria: The Ojo Obianukor family of Ogwenzei ni Okofashi of Umutu, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State has announced the transition to eternal glory of their father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle, Okwa Ojo Obianukor at the age of 95.
A renowned farmer, trader, socialite and politician, Okwa Ojo until his demise was the immediate past Onotu-Uku (Traditional Prime Minister) of Umutu, who also served Umutu Community in different capacities, including Oche Aku (Community Treasurer) of Igili Kingdom, Chairman Umutu Development Union UDU, Life President Otu Chukwuka -Ochili Omedo and the Ugo Okwa (Okwa Spokesman) amongst others.
He is survived by his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Margaret Ojo, 10 Children, 53 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren amongst whom is a one time member of the Delta State House of Assembly, now Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Primary Healthcare, Hon (Dr.) Alphonsus Chukwutem Ojo.
“An Iroko Tree has fallen. A great man of many parts has embarked on a journey of no return.
Ugo Okwa per excellence has finally taken a bow. He was a sage. We mourn him with all our hearts in gratitude to God for a life well lived. He lived his life in service to God and humanity and left at the ripe age of 95. We the children and all that came in contact with him will surely miss him”, Ojo said in a statement.
Hon Ojo in the statement announced that the burial rites of the late father will commence on Friday 15 April 2022 with a divine service at 4pm in the family compound, 60 Igili road, Umutu, to be followed by a funeral service at 10am on Saturday 16 April 2022 at Umutu Mixed Secondary School, Umutu, Ukwuani local government area.
He said reception of guest follows immediately after the service at the same venue, while an outing service in honour of the late sage will hold on Sunday April 17, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Umutu.
The former lawmaker and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Primary Healthcare, prayed God to grant the soul of his late father and souls of other departed, eternal rest.
