Advocate Lecture Series Board of Council Announces Dr. Harvey Igben as Discussant for Inaugural Public Lecture
UGHELLI/Nigeria: In a move aimed at enhancing dialogue on pressing contemporary issues and promoting intellectual discourse, the Advocate Lecture Series Board of Council (ALSBCS) is pleased to reveal that Dr. Harvey Igben will be participating as a discussant at its upcoming public lecture.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by Mr. Shedrack Onitsha, Secretary of the ALSBCS, who disclosed that the inaugural lecture is part of the activities lined up to celebrate the 10th Year Anniversary in Newspaper Publishing by Advocate Publication Ltd.
Scheduled for April 17th, 2024, at the esteemed Wetland Hotel Ughelli, the Inaugural Lecture Series will explore the theme “Youth Empowerment and Leadership Evolution: Rethinking Nigeria’s Leadership Recruitment Process.”
Mr. Onitsha emphasized that the ALSBCS Board, led by renowned journalist and former Editor of the Guardian Newspaper, Mr. Abraham Ogbodo, aims to elevate the discourse. He highlighted Dr. Igben’s distinguished background as a Mass Communication Scholar and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Delta State University, Abraka.
Dr. Igben’s academic journey includes an impressive educational background spanning continents, culminating in a PhD in Media Studies specializing in Public Relations from the University of Salford, United Kingdom, complemented by degrees in Biblical Studies from Freelandia Bible College and Seminary in the United States.
Described as a prolific researcher and writer, Dr. Igben’s scholarly contributions have been featured in prestigious local and international journals, reflecting his deep understanding of communication dynamics and public relations principles.
Beyond academia, Dr. Igben is recognized for his advocacy for peaceful coexistence and the transformative power of empathy and understanding. His leadership as the former head of the Department of Mass Communication at Delta State University, Abraka, has left a lasting impact, fostering a culture of excellence and mutual respect.
