2023: Nani Bows To Pressure, Accepts To Contest For Senate
IDJERHRE/Nigeria: Following the incessant calls by leaders, stakeholders and youths in Delta Central Senatorial District, the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Delta State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief Barr. John Obukohwo Nani has accepted to contest for the position of Senate in the forthcoming 2023 general election.
Nani made the formal acceptance in Idjerhre kingdom during the New Year party he organised for chiefs in Idjerhe Kingdom kingdom.
According to him, the decision to accept their request was to enable him give his people effective representation by bringing dividends of Democracy to their door steps.
“I have the credentials to contest for any position in the state but for equity sake I have decided to contest for senate. One of our own was a governor of the state from this local government”
He assured that if given the mandate, he would do all it takes to make meaningful impact that would transform the lives of the entire Urhobo Nation throughout his stay at the National Assembly.
Earlier, Chief Solomon Ojariafe who spoke on behalf of the Idjerhre council of chiefs commended Chief (Barr.) Nani for spreading dividends of Democracy accross Idjerhe Kingdom and Delta Central at large.
They rated Chief Nani high above his contemporaries for surpassing the expectations of the people concerning his campaign promises.
Chief Ojariafe describe the former Delta State House of Assembly member as a quintessential son of Idjerhre kingdom and commended him for organising the New Year get together.
The Idjerhe council of chiefs,and elders however could on chief Nani to contest for Senior in Delta Central District come 2023.
Olotu Mable Ojariafe, who led the ilotus to the country home of Chief Nani, said all the people in Delta Central should throw their weight behind the Awemutuwewi of Idjerhe Kingdom owing to his pedigree as someone who could sacrifice his resources to make his people happy.
Hon Blessing Akamugbe, appealed to Urhobos to support Chief Nani’s quest to be the next Senator because he has the credible credentials to occupy the seat at the National Assembly to represent his very well.
