ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has monitored the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) with a call on students to brace up for a brighter future through hardwork and commitment to their studies.
Mrs. Ezewu while monitoring the examination in different parts of the state, said that the examination was conducted in the state to enable successful candidates proceed to the senior secondary class.
The commissioner, who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination, stated the Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education was always determined and ready to conduct a successful examination.
Mrs. Ezewu advised students to shun examination malpractice, stressing that stakeholders should cooperative with one another to ensure the success of the exercise at all times.
The Secondary Education Commissioner also visited ICE Centres in Warri, Ughelli and Oleh as part of her familiarisation tour of the Institute of Continuing Education centres across the state.
Also speaking,the Permanent Secretary in Delta State of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Ede Oghoro said that the Ministry would always improve in every examination conducted.
Mr. Oghoro said that materials for the examination were sufficient and providided to all the examination centres on time, even as he urged the candidates to ensure that they put in their best in order to guarantee their success.
Meanwhile, the Director of Examination and Standard, Mr. Sunday Egomagwuna said that several monitors from the ministry had been monitoring the examination to ensure smooth conduct.
Mr. Egomagwuna, who disclosed that a total of 89,537 candidates enrolled for 2022 BECE in Delta State and expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination.
